Cement Masons Local 555 represents 517 Union concrete finishers throughout the entire state of Oregon and Clark, Klickitat, and Skamania Counties of SW Washington. We have contracts with 116 contractors in the same region. We supply the manpower and provide training for these contractors. We provide the latest in technical training in the industry. We strive to stay ahead of the curve to ensure our contractor employers remain at the top of the field in quality and production.
Our finishers are proficient in every aspect of the craft. To achieve a journey level classification our apprentices must complete a 6000 hour training program that includes everything from lay-out, form setting, finishing, restoration and patching of existing concrete to specialty skills like epoxy injection, floor fill, stamp and stain, and floor coatings.
Our workforce is highly mobile and is able to move from one jurisdiction to another freely within our international organization the OP&CMIA (Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International).
The mission of our organization is to improve the working conditions and wages for our members. We work very hard to negotiate family wages and pension and healthcare benefits. We know that the Contractor is our employer and understand that the market that we operate in is extremely fcompetitive and we accept our role in keeping them profitable. We believe that a fair days wage goes both ways and know that we must earn our benefits by working skillfully and productively
We have a lot to offer and encourage those who are not familiar with our organization to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you and will be happy answer any questions that you may have.
